Hotel Rates - Dates Required

How do I get the rates for a hotel if I don't know the dates?

Planning a trip into London?  Trying to figure out how much it will cost?  There are a few bits of information that you need to know in order to prepare your finances:

1) Hotel Rates

Most London hotels have different rates for different days of the week.   Friday and Saturday are typically the most expensive days, while Sunday is the least expensive on average.  Monday to Thursday rates will be less than the weekend, but generally a bit higher than Sunday night.  If you are searching for dates over a busy season, bank holiday, or when a major event is ongoing, rates may increase further.  As such, TravelStay requires a specific Arrival Date and Departure Date in order to provide rates for an accommodation.

2) Dates of Stay

As mentioned above, an Arrival Date and Departure Date must be entered in order to determine accommodation rates.  Not sure when you are looking to stay?  If you have a general idea, TravelStay recommends that you go ahead and secure your booking with the accommodation in order that you do have a booking lined up.  With the Free to Modify policy, it is easy to make sure that you have a booking with the flexibility to change!  There are a few things to keep in mind though when doing this:

  • All accommodations have a Cancellation Policy of at least 24 hours.  (Please be sure to look in the Booking Policy for more details.  Alternatively, you will see one of the following displays on your Booking Page:
    •
      • Modify your booking prior to the time and date listed when you see this at the bottom left of your Booking Page in order to avoid "late cancellation charges".  Your original deposit is refunded with the new TravelStay booking.
      • If you see this message, any modifications/cancellations would result in the accommodation charging late cancellation fees according to their specific Booking Policy.  However, your original deposit is still refunded with a new TravelStay booking.
  • A cancellation with no modification will not be eligible for a refund of the booking deposit.

3) Availability

The longer you wait to make your booking, the less availability there will be.  Also, rates are likely to have increased.  You may lose out on Advanced Booking Discounts.  (Advanced Booking Discounts not available for all accommodations at all times.)
